Hello Family!
Chris Russell and I have reserved camp sites in the same area as we had last year. Chris has camp site #200, I have #199. Click here for a PDF map of the Kentuck Camp Ground:

At this point in time, I don't actually plan to use the site (I have hotel reservations), so the spot could be used by other family members, but in the interest of buffering our group some, if you wish to rent a space, I'd suggest someone claim #198 or #201, and then we'd have 3 or 4 sites in a row, and there is no other site below 198 (those two tiny cabins - 197, 196 - are already rented, dammit). 198 has a lot of space around it at the bottom of that little cul-de-sac.
My camp site order info is below; you can call the 888 number, or go to
https://www.pa.reserveworld.com/SearchPark.aspx -- pull down the Park menu to Ohiopyle, and then go through the order process (pretty simple).
Please let us know if you book a site.

Chris and Susan have a campsite at the Ohiopyle Campground. They will be arriving on Friday and camping that night and Saturday night. There is room for another tent if anyone wants to join them.

Couldn't block ANY rooms so anyone who wants to stay needs to make their own arrangements.

Ask for STEPHANIE. We have a block of 9 rooms for both Friday 7/25 & Saturday 7/26. Anyone staying there needs to book it BEFORE 6/25/08 or I get charged for all of them. It's under MURRAY REUNION & the price is $84.00 for 2 adults - kids stay free - AAA & AARP discounts can be used. All rooms are non-smoking so if that doesn't work for anyone they'll need to change it. Check in is 4PM & checkout NOON

I didn't block anything because I wasn't sure if anyone was interested -- it's 6 miles outside of Connellsville so it's an option to the Melody for whomever isn't camping.

Chris Russell is going to reserve his camping spot, and then I'll share that with the family, along w/ the process, and they can reserve camping spots near him if they like.

Reunion date is definitely July 25, 26, 27
We have a room booked at Bud Murphy's at 6PM on Friday, July 25. We'll order off the menu per usual, everyone pays their own way.
We have the "sunny" pavilion at Tharp Knob picnic area (same as last year) booked for Saturday afternoon. Still working out catering/food options.
I'll compile the camping info from PA state parks, pick a good site for 3-4 groups to camp adjacent one another, and then we'll send that out so they can make their own reservations.
I think that may be all the reservations/commitments that need to be made at this time...I'm probably missing something.

Note from Michael Elabarger regarding the 2008 family Reunion:
Julie and I are spearheading the Murray Family reunion this year, and given the political fervor we're all in, I thought I'd quickly poll you all as to best/preferred dates for the event.
The general idea is to mimic the fantastic job Chris did last year at Ohiopyle. So that would probably include a Friday evening rendezvous at Bud Murphy's (where everybody knows the Murray name, or at least the Fisch's!), camping for those so inclined, a picnic Saturday at Tharp Knob picnic area, and then a breakfast send-off Sunday morning.
I'm going to throw out these dates. Please check w/ your extended families, and anyone that doesn't seem represented on the "to" list of this email (we need a better family email list!!).
- July 25/26/27 - last weekend in July, my personal preference :).

- Aug 1/2/3
- Aug 8/9/10
Please respond back to me by next Friday - February 29th - LEAP DAY!!
